  1. 1 Combine tomato sauce, tomatoes, onion, and Italian seasoning in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. 2 Meanwhile, cook and stir bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until slightly crisp. Drain, then stir into tomato mixture in the pot.
  3. 3 Cook and stir sausage in the same skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain, then stir into the pot.
  4. 4 Cook and stir ground beef in the same skillet over medium heat until crumbly and browned. Drain, then stir into the pot.
  5. 5 Stir barbecue sauce and chili powder into the pot; taste and adjust seasonings. Stir in kidney beans and chocolate.
  6. 6 Simmer until flavors are well blended.
