  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt into a bowl; set aside.
  2. 2 Combine apples and white sugar in a separate bowl; set aside. Mix brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla together until well combined. Stir in apple mixture, then flour mixture. Fold in walnuts.
  3. 3 Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
