Grilled Teriyaki Hamburgers

Servings:

When the weather turns to grilling season, treat your family to flavor-packed, delicious, sweet and savory grilled teriyaki hamburgers. We like ours with mayo, lettuce, grilled red onion slices, and provolone, but add toppings to suit your taste.

Instructions

  1. 1 Combine ground beef, 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce, diced onion, panko, ginger paste, garlic, salt and pepper in a large bowl; mix just until combined. Divide mixture equally into 4 patties, and shape and flatten to the approximate size of your bun. Make an indentation with your thumb in the center of the patties to promote even cooking without bulging.
  2. 2 Preheat a grill to medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate. Grill the insides of buns until toasty, about 1 minute, and grill the red onions until tender, about 5 minutes; set aside.
  3. 3 Grill burgers until no longer pink in the center, 5 to 7 minutes. Flip halfway through cooking time and brush with teriyaki sauce. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).
  4. 4 To serve, top each bun with a burger, drizzle with a little teriyaki sauce or serve on the side, and add any additional toppings that you like.
