A moister version of apple crisp with a thick sauce for extra moistness. I've used this recipe for many years and always get requests for the recipe when I make it. Tastes great served warm with vanilla ice cream!

  1. 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Combine flour, brown sugar, oats, melted butter, and cinnamon in a medium bowl; stir until crumbly. Press 1/2 of the oat mixture into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cover with sliced apples.
  3. 3 Combine white sugar, water, cornstarch, and vanilla in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, until thick and clear, about 10 minutes. Pour over sliced apples. Top with remaining oat mixture.
  4. 4 Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and golden, about 45 minutes.
