  1. 1 Gather all ingredients. Place popped popcorn into a very large heatproof bowl.
  2. 2 Combine corn syrup, butter, water, confectioners' sugar, and marshmallows in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat and stir until marshmallows have melted and the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. 3 Carefully pour hot marshmallow mixture over popcorn. Stir with a buttered spatula until popcorn is evenly coated.
  4. 4 Coat hands with nonstick cooking spray and quickly shape coated popcorn into balls before mixture cools and hardens.
  5. 5 Wrap cooled popcorn balls in plastic wrap or cellophane and store at room temperature for up to 1 week.
