Busy Mom Peach Cobbler

Servings:

This busy mom peach cobbler recipe has been in my family (and probably most Southern families) for ages. I've added and removed a few ingredients over the years, but it's yummy any way I make it.

Instructions

  1. 1 Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Add butter to an 8x8-inch baking dish; place in the oven to melt.
  2. 2 Combine peaches with syrup and 2 tablespoons sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer for 10 minutes. Set aside.
  3. 3 Whisk flour, 1 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl; stir in milk until mixture is just moist. Pour batter into the preheated baking dish; spoon peach slices and most of the syrup over batter.
  4. 4 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 2 tablespoons sugar. Continue baking until golden brown, 30 to 45 minutes more.
