This apple crisp with cake mix is an easy recipe for using leftover apples from the fall. You can substitute two (21-ounce) cans of apple pie filling for the apples and water.

  2. 2 Arrange sliced apples evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour water over apples.
  3. 3 Combine cake mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Stir in melted butter until thoroughly blended and crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
  4. 4 Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and topping is browned, 50 to 55 minutes.
