This apple crisp with cake mix is an easy recipe for using leftover apples from the fall. It's great anytime during the year when you want an easy take-along dish or when company arrives at your door unexpectedly! Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping. You can substitute two (21-ounce) cans of apple pie filling for the apples and water.
Ingredients
- 6 medium apples , peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup water
- 1 package white cake mix , 15.25 ounce
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 cups butter , melted

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Arrange sliced apples evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Pour water over apples.

Combine cake mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Stir in melted butter until thoroughly blended and crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.

Bake in the preheated oven until bubbly and topping is browned, 50 to 55 minutes.
