1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using PantryLink ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PantryLink is a web-based pantry and inventory management application that allows users to:

  • Track pantry inventory and household items
  • Create and manage shopping lists
  • Scan product barcodes via browser extension
  • Share lists with family members and groups ("Crews")
  • Save and organize recipes
  • Access gamification features including badges and points

3. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of the Terms.

You are responsible for:

  • Safeguarding the password that you use to access the Service
  • Any activities or actions under your account
  • Notifying us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account

You may not use as a username the name of another person or entity or that is not lawfully available for use, or a name or trademark that is subject to any rights of another person or entity without appropriate authorization.

4. Subscription Plans and Payments

4.1 Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers both free and paid subscription plans. Some features are only available to users with paid subscriptions.

4.2 Billing

For paid subscriptions, you agree to pay all fees associated with your chosen plan. Payments are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor.

4.3 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

4.4 Refunds

Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact us within 30 days of purchase to request a refund.

4.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription prices. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days before any price changes take effect.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Upload malicious code or content
  • Scrape or collect data from the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications

6. Intellectual Property and User Content

6.1 Company Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of PantryLink and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You will not remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices incorporated in or accompanying the Service.

6.2 Responsibility for User Content

All content posted, submitted, or otherwise made available through the Service by users — including but not limited to inventory data, shopping lists, recipes, notes, images, and crew messages — is the sole responsibility of the person who originated that content ("User Content"). You are entirely responsible for all User Content that you make available through the Service. PantryLink does not endorse, and has no obligation to pre-screen, any User Content, but reserves the right in its sole discretion to review, refuse, or remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable.

6.3 Ownership of Your Content

PantryLink does not claim ownership of any User Content you make available through the Service ("Your Content"). You retain all rights in and to Your Content. However, when you as a user post, publish, or otherwise submit Your Content on or through the Service, you represent and warrant that you have all of the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to grant PantryLink the license set forth in Section 6.4, including but not limited to any rights required to submit, share, or redistribute recipes, links, images, or other content from third-party sources.

6.4 License to Your Content

By submitting, posting, or otherwise making Your Content available on or through the Service, you grant PantryLink, its agents, suppliers, and anyone else authorized by PantryLink, an irrevocable, non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable right and license to use, copy, store, display, publicly perform, transmit, modify, publish, distribute, make derivative works of, and otherwise commercially and non-commercially exploit Your Content (in whole or in part) in any manner or medium now existing or hereafter developed, and for any purpose. The foregoing grant includes the right to exploit any proprietary rights in Your Content, including under copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws in any relevant jurisdiction. In connection with the exercise of these rights, you grant PantryLink the right to identify you as the author of Your Content by name or username, as PantryLink deems appropriate. You will not receive any compensation of any kind for the use of Your Content.

You acknowledge that other users may search for, see, use, modify, and reproduce any of Your Content that you submit to any shared or public area of the Service (including shared recipes, Crew lists, or community features). Accordingly, you should be careful and selective about the personal information that you disclose in any shared area of the Service.

If you share content with other users (e.g., through Crews, shared lists, or shared recipes), those users may continue to have access to copies of that content even after you delete it from your account.

6.5 Content Restrictions

You agree that you will not post, upload, or otherwise make available through the Service any User Content that:

  • Infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property or proprietary right of any party
  • Is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another's privacy, or obscene
  • Impersonates any person or entity, or misrepresents your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Contains software viruses or any other code designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of the Service
  • Constitutes unsolicited advertising, spam, or any form of solicitation

PantryLink reserves the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms, without notice.

6.6 Feedback

If you provide PantryLink with any suggestions, ideas, or feedback regarding the Service ("Feedback"), you acknowledge that PantryLink may freely use such Feedback without any obligation or compensation to you.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with third-party services including:

  • Stripe - for payment processing
  • Google - for authentication (optional)
  • Retailer websites - for product information via browser extension

Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

7.5 Advertising

The Service may display third-party advertisements, including but not limited to:

  • Google AdSense: We participate in the Google AdSense program, which serves relevant ads on our site
  • Contextual Advertising: Ads may be based on page content and general demographics
  • Personalized Advertising: Third-party advertisers may use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing activity

You acknowledge that:

  • Clicking on advertisements may redirect you to third-party websites
  • We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of advertisers
  • You can manage ad preferences through your browser settings and opt-out mechanisms provided by advertising networks

We reserve the right to display advertisements on both free and paid subscription tiers unless explicitly stated otherwise in your subscription plan.

7.6 SMS/Text Message Notifications

PantryLink offers optional SMS text message notifications. By providing your phone number and opting in to SMS notifications, you agree to the following:

Types of Messages

You may receive SMS notifications for:

  • Inventory Alerts: Notifications when items are added to shared inventory lists
  • Shopping List Updates: Alerts when items are added to shared shopping lists
  • List Sharing: Notifications when someone shares a list with you
  • Low Stock Alerts: Alerts when inventory items fall below your set minimum levels
  • Crew Invitations: Invitations to join household groups ("Crews")
  • Phone Verification: One-time codes to verify your phone number
  • Account Security: Important security-related notifications

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity and notification preferences. You control which notifications you receive through your account settings.

Opt-In and Opt-Out

  • Opt-In: SMS notifications require explicit opt-in. You must provide your phone number and enable SMS notifications in your account settings.
  • Opt-Out: You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by disabling SMS notifications in your account settings.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message for assistance.

Costs and Carrier Information

  • Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your text messaging plan.
  • We do not charge for SMS notifications, but your carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
  • SMS services may not be available on all carriers or in all areas.
  • We are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues.

Privacy

Your phone number will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. We use your phone number solely to deliver the notifications you have requested. See our Privacy Policy for complete details on how we handle your data.

8. Browser Extension

Our browser extension allows you to add products to your inventory from retailer websites. By using the extension:

  • You agree to only use it for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • You acknowledge that product data scraped from retailer sites belongs to those retailers
  • You understand the extension requires certain browser permissions to function

9. Account Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
  • You may request an export of your data within 30 days
  • After 30 days, your data may be permanently deleted

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall PantryLink, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service
  • Any content obtained from the Service
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content

11. Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will function uninterrupted, secure, or available at any particular time or location
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected
  • The results of using the Service will meet your requirements

12. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue binding arbitration or small claims court.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
