Emily's blackberry cobbler recipe is the easiest dessert to make. If you pop it in the oven before you serve your meal, you will have a hot cobbler to plop a scoop of vanilla ice cream on for dessert.

  2. 2 Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. 3 Beat 1 cup sugar and butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy; add flour mixture, alternating with milk, until no large lumps remain. Transfer batter to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  4. 4 Arrange blackberries over batter; sprinkle with remaining 1 cup sugar. Pour boiling water over top.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven until batter is set and berries are soft, about 50 minutes.
