Emily's blackberry cobbler recipe is the easiest dessert to make. If you pop it in the oven before you serve your meal, you will have a hot cobbler to plop a scoop of vanilla ice cream on for dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups white sugar , divided
- 0.33 cups butter , softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- 2 cups boiling water
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Set aside.
-
3
Beat 1 cup sugar and butter together in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light and fluffy; add flour mixture, alternating with milk, until no large lumps remain. Transfer batter to a 9x13-inch baking dish.
-
4
Arrange blackberries over batter; sprinkle with remaining 1 cup sugar. Pour boiling water over top.
-
5
Bake in the preheated oven until batter is set and berries are soft, about 50 minutes.

Spicy Asian Ramen Noodles
I admit it, I still love ramen. In this yummy recipe, expect fast, easy, and spicy with salty, sweet, and sour flavors kicking in. The spiciness level can be adapted to your taste by adjusting the chili garlic sauce. This will make 4 side servings or 3 hearty main course servings.
Cod Curry
This tomato based curry may be modified for hotness depending on quantity of spices and number of jalapeno peppers used. It is a great favourite with my family - I make it about once a month.
Potato Croquettes
These croquettes make great use of leftover mashed potatoes. Great for dinner with a garden salad.
