This hamburger potato casserole is a recipe that my grandmother used to keep me and my finicky cousins well-fed! It is very kid-friendly, and adults like it too!

  1. 1 Gather all ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. 2 Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.
  3. 3 Mix condensed soup, milk, onion, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl until combined.
  4. 4 Alternately layer the potatoes, soup mixture, and browned ground beef in a 2-quart baking dish.
  5. 5 Bake in the preheated oven until potatoes are tender, about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  6. 6 Top with Cheddar cheese, and continue baking until cheese is melted.
  7. 7 Serve and enjoy.
