Onion Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Servings:

I developed this recipe for onion pan-fried pork chops one day because I wanted something different from the same old pork chops (that is how my husband asked me to cook them that day). So I made this up quickly, and boy, did he love them. Now he asks for them every time. I do this with boneless and bone-in pork chops. So it doesn't matter what kind you have on hand, just cook them up and enjoy.

Instructions

  1. 1 Crush larger bits of onion in soup packet with your hands before opening it; pour into a shallow bowl. Stir in flour.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat until hot (a pinch of onion soup mixture should sizzle when tossed into oil).
  3. 3 Meanwhile, coat pork chops in onion soup mixture; shake off excess. Carefully place chops into hot oil. Quickly sear chops on both sides, 30 seconds per side, then cook to desired degree of doneness, about 4 minutes per side.
