Pan-Fried Onion Cheeseburger

Servings:

I make this recipe for pan-fried onion cheeseburgers with caramelized onions and sharp Cheddar cheese. I serve the burgers on brioche buns and eat them plain. My hubby likes to add lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, and more fresh onions! With or without all of the toppings, they are delicious.

Instructions

  1. 1 Place ground beef in a bowl; season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly; shape into 3 balls and set aside.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a large skillet. Add onion; cook until starts to brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a plate. Add 3 ground beef balls to the same skillet; flatten with a cast-iron press or a heavy spatula. Divide and place onions on top of patties; cook 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. 3 Carefully flip patties so onions are on the bottom; press. Top each patty with 1 slice Cheddar cheese; cook until cheese is melted and burgers reach desired doneness, 3 to 4 minutes. Serve on brioche buns.
