This saltine cracker toffee is made by topping a layer of crackers with homemade toffee, melted chocolate, and chopped nuts for a wonderfully delicious treat. We love to pack pieces of toffee into pretty tins and give them as gifts during the holidays.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1 Gather all ingredients, and preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. 2 Line a rimmed baking sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.
  3. 3 Combine butter and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; boil for 3 minutes.
  4. 4 Immediately pour over saltines and spread to cover crackers completely. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 to 6 minutes.
  5. 5 Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Let sit 5 minutes.
  6. 6 Spread softened chocolate evenly. Sprinkle with pecans. Allow to cool completely, about 25 minutes.
  7. 7 Break toffee into pieces. Enjoy!
