  1. 1 Add smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and celery seed to a bowl; stir until evenly combined. Season cod filets on all sides with mixture and place on a plate.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add cod and fry for 3 minutes.
  3. 3 Turn filets over, add lemon juice, and fry until cod flakes easily with a fork, about 2 minutes more. Transfer to a serving plate; garnish with parsley.
