Ingredients

2 cups fresh strawberries , hulled
2.25 teaspoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
0.25 cups white sugar
0.5 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Instructions

1 Gather all ingredients.
2 Blend or puree the strawberries into a liquid.
3 Dissolve cornstarch in the cold water in a medium saucepan. Add strawberry puree and sugar and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until just beginning to boil. Remove from heat.
4 Immediately add butter and lemon juice; stir until butter has melted. Allow to cool before serving.
