This Thai basil mojito is a simple yet exciting twist on the classic mojito, swapping out mint for fresh Thai basil.

2 cups ice
1 fluid ounce lime juice
0.75 fluids ounce simple syrup
12 freshs Thai basil leaves
1.5 fluids ounces rum
2 fluids ounces club soda
lime wedge

1 Thai basil sprig

Fill a collins glass with ice and set aside.

In a cocktail shaker, combine lime juice, simple syrup and Thai basil leaves. Use a muddler to crush the leaves for about 10 seconds. Add rum and 1 cup of ice. Seal and shake vigorously until outside is frosted, 10 to 15 seconds.

Strain mojito into the glass and top with club soda; gently stir. Garnish with lime wedge and Thai basil sprig, if desired.
