2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
0.5 cups milk
0.75 cups German dark beer
2 teaspoons stone ground mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup freshly grated sharp Cheddar cheese
0.5 teaspoons Aleppo chile peppers , optional
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

1 Gather all ingredients.
2 Melt butter In a heavy saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth.
3 Continue whisking; pour in milk. Whisk in beer; cook until mixture thickens, 3 to 5 minutes.
4 Stir in mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Add cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Stir in Aleppo pepper; season with salt and black pepper.
5 Serve immediately.
