Spinach and Mushroom Soup with Spaetzle
This recipe is a nod to my German heritage with a fabulous herbed spaetzle. Simple enough to be comforting on cold days, but easy to modify as well.

These Chinese cookies are like the ones you'll find at the grocery store bakery. They have a chocolate center. You can make your own fudge icing, or buy it premade at the store.
Skillet Cheeseburger Pasta
This skillet cheeseburger dish will make you nostalgic for grilling season while being a perfect off-season weeknight comfort meal. Don't be daunted by the long ingredient list—it's mostly easy-to-measure seasonings, and there's only a bit of chopping to do. The best part is that when you are finished, there is so little cleanup. The macaroni cooks right in the skillet.
