This basic pear butter recipe is very easy to make and delicious.
Ingredients
- 3 large chopped peeled pears
- 0.5 cups white sugar
- 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
1
Place pears in the bowl of a food processor; purée until smooth.
-
2
Transfer 3 cups puréed pears into a saucepan. Add sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until bubbling, about 15 minutes. Stir in cinnamon. Cook, stirring frequently, until thick, about 15 minutes more.
-
3
Meanwhile, immerse a 1-pint jar in simmering water for 5 minutes. Wash new, unused lid and ring in warm soapy water.
-
4
Pack pear butter into hot, sterilized jar, filling to within 1/4 inch of the top. Run a clean knife or thin spatula around the insides of the jar to remove any air bubbles. Wipe the rim with a moist paper towel to remove any residue. Top with lid and screw ring on tightly. Store in the refrigerator.
