There's nothing quite like grilled tuna to please fish lovers! Tuna is available most of the year, so fresh steaks should be easy to come by. Simply marinate briefly in olive oil to keep the fish moist as it cooks on the grill and avoid overcooking — timing is critical, as tuna tastes best served medium rare.
Ingredients
- 4 albacores tuna steaks , 6 ounce
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 lime , juiced
- 0.5 cups hickory wood chips , soaked
Instructions
-
1
Gather all ingredients.
-
2
Place tuna steaks and olive oil in a large resealable plastic bag. Seal, and refrigerate for 1 hour.
-
3
Preheat the grill for medium heat. When coals are very hot, scatter a handful of hickory or mesquite wood chips over them for flavor.
-
4
Lightly oil grill grate. Season tuna with salt and pepper, and cook on the preheated grill approximately 6 minutes, turning once.
-
5
Transfer to a serving platter, and drizzle with freshly squeezed lime juice. Serve immediately.
