Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.75 cups vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cups molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cloves
  • 0.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.33 cups white sugar for decoration

Instructions

    Gather the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

    Mix brown sugar, oil, molasses, and egg together in a large bowl.

    Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt; stir into the molasses mixture.
