This patriotic fruit pizza is a fun recipe for the Fourth of July holiday! Fresh fruit is a hit on desserts during the summer months! Making this dessert is as fun as eating it! This recipe feeds a lot, but the leftovers are only good a day or two.
Ingredients
- 2.75 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.25 teaspoons salt
- 0.5 cups vegetable shortening
- 0.5 cups margarine , softened
- 2.5 cups white sugar , divided
- 2 eggs
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract , divided
- 2 , 8 ounce
- 3 large bananas , sliced, or as needed
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice , or as needed
- 1 , 6 ounce
- 1 , 16 ounce

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in a bowl; set aside.

Mash vegetable shortening and margarine together in a large bowl until thoroughly combined; beat in 1 ½ cups sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir in flour mixture until forms a workable dough; spread into a rectangle shape on an ungreased 12x17-inch baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven until very lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes. Cool completely.

Meanwhile, mash cream cheese with remaining each 1 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Place sliced bananas in a separate bowl; gently toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.

Spread cream cheese mixture over cookie base in an even layer to cover; smooth. Place blueberries in neat, closely spaced rows in a square in the upper left corner for the stars. Arrange alternating rows of sliced bananas and sliced strawberries across pizza for the stripes. Refrigerate leftovers.
