My husband and I team up to make this bacon-wrapped halibut appetizer, though it is easy to do alone. Tasty, easy, and vanishes as soon as it is placed on the table. What more could you ask for?
Ingredients
- 18 slices bacon , cut in half
- 1.5 pounds halibut steaks , cut into 36 cubes
- ground black pepper to taste
- toothpicks
Instructions
-
1
Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium-high heat until just beginning to brown but still soft. Set aside until cool enough to handle.
-
2
Preheat the oven broiler.
-
3
Season halibut with pepper. Wrap 1 bacon piece around each halibut cube and secure with a toothpick. Place on a baking sheet.
-
4
Cook under the preheated broiler until fish is cooked through and bacon is crisp, about 5 minutes, turning halfway. Transfer to a platter and serve warm.

KFC Coleslaw recipe
My favorite coleslaw has always been from KFC. Making KFC coleslaw at home is easy and it makes a great take-along to potlucks and backyard barbecues.
French-Canadian Gorton Pork Spread
Old gorton recipe from French-Canadian Memere (Grandma). Delicious and spicy pork spread for sandwiches. Pronounced "gah-ton." Enjoy on a sandwich with mustard or eat alone.
Buffalo Ranch Deviled Eggs
My family loves deviled eggs, so I decided to make a little twist on our regular recipe, inspired by the flavors of Buffalo chicken. They are spicy, but not too spicy for my young kids, and it's easy to change the level of spiciness to suit your taste.
