This fried calamari is a delicious, easy, quick, but moderately expensive recipe. Everyone I've fixed this for absolutely loves it!
Ingredients
- 3 cups vegetable oil
- 0.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.5 teaspoons ground black pepper
- 12 squid , cleaned and sliced into rings
- 1 lemon - cut into wedges , for garnish
Instructions
-
1
Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Mix together flour, salt, oregano, and pepper in a medium bowl. Dredge squid in flour mixture.
-
3
Fry squid in hot oil until light brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Do not overcook, or squid will be tough. Drain squid on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve with lemon wedges.

Torta de Milanesa de Pollo
This is a Mexican-inspired version of cotoletta alla Milanese, served on a bun and dressed with Mexican-style fixings. Spicy breaded chicken breast gets sandwiched between a toasted Mexican bun and then topped with spicy spread, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and pickled vegetables.
Lamingtons
Lamingtons are little sponge cakes coated in chocolate and grated coconut. Most people love these traditional Australian treats. Any firm type of plain cake can be used: butter cake, pound cake, Madeira cake, or génoise sponge.
