A quick, flavorful Creole-style dish you can customize to your liking! Add chili powder or cayenne for extra spice. Great topped with salsa!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 2 small onions , chopped
  • 1 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 , 15.5 ounce

Instructions

    Crumble ground beef into a deep skillet or large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions and green pepper. Cook, stirring, until brown. Drain and discard grease.

    Add rice and water. Season with Creole seasoning, pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer until water is absorbed, about 30 minutes. About halfway through cooking, stir in peas and continue to cook until warmed through.
