This taco pizza recipe can be suited to match anyone's tastes, and the ready-made crust makes it a snap on busy days. We love to order taco pizza from the local pizza parlor, but it got too expensive, so I came up with this variation. My family loves it!
Ingredients
- 0.5 pounds ground beef
- 0.5 cups chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 0.33 cups water
- 0.5 packets taco seasoning mix , 1 ounce
- 1 can diced tomatoes with garlic and onion , 14.5 ounce
- 2 cups salsa , Optional
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 cup refried beans
- 1 12-inch prepared pizza crust
- 2 cups Mexican-style shredded four-cheese blend , divided
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 tomatoes , chopped
- 1 can sliced black olives , 2.25 ounce
- 0.25 cups chopped green onion
- 1 cup sour cream , Optional
Instructions
-
1
Cook and stir ground beef, onion, and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat until beef is completely browned; drain fat from the skillet.
-
2
Stir water and taco seasoning mix into beef mixture, then bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
-
3
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place pizza crust onto a baking sheet.
-
4
Blend diced tomatoes, 1 cup salsa, and cilantro in a blender until smooth.
-
5
Spread refried beans in an even layer on the prepared pizza crust, leaving a border of about 1/2-inch uncovered around the outside. Spread 1 cup diced tomato mixture over beans in an even layer; reserve the remaining sauce. Scatter ground beef mixture over sauce, then cover with 1 1/2 cups cheese.
-
6
Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is bubbly and crust edges are golden brown, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
-
7
Top pizza with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and remaining cheese. Serve with the reserved sauce, sour cream, and remaining salsa.
