I love kale, but my husband hates it. Cooking it quickly with olive oil and minced garlic is the only way he'll eat it!
Ingredients
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
Instructions
-
1
Gather all ingredients.
-
2
Soak kale leaves in a large bowl of water until dirt and sand begin to fall to the bottom, about 2 minutes. Lift kale from the bowl without drying the leaves and immediately remove and discard stems. Chop the kale leaves into 1-inch pieces.
-
3
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat; cook and stir garlic until sizzling, about 1 minute. Add kale to the skillet and place a cover over the top.
-
4
Cook, stirring occasionally with tongs, until kale is bright green and slightly tender, 5 to 7 minutes.
-
5
Enjoy!

72-Hour Sous Vide Short Ribs
Sous vide cooking works its magic on many foods but yields some of the most dramatic results on short ribs. In traditional recipes, the ribs (usually cut into short 2- to 3-inch chunks by the butcher) are braised for several hours. Although the braising method adds great flavor and makes the meat extremely tender, it's also usually well done. But thanks to our sous vide wizardry, we're able to maintain a perfectly pink medium-rare and fork-tender meat. After tasting these short ribs, I may never cook any type of ribs the same way again. This summer, I plan to lightly smoke a rack of spare ribs, then cook them sous vide for a few days before finishing them back on the grill. I expect pretty incredible results.
Brown Sugar Candy
This sugar candy recipe is from my mother. This is only one of the many candy recipes she makes at Christmas and gives away to friends.
Easy Vanilla Ice Cream
Just milk, sugar, and vanilla. This vanilla ice cream is so easy and tastes just like snow cream. This is designed for an old-fashioned ice cream maker that yields 1 gallon; be sure to scale the recipe down if you have a countertop model.
