Homemade Dumplings
My mother was one of the best cooks I ever knew. Whenever she made stews we mostly found homemade dumplings in them. We never ate things from packages and you sure could taste what food was! That's the way I continue to cook today.
Hawaiian-Style Beef Stew
This Hawaiian-style beef stew might be the best beef stew recipe you'll ever make, with a level of umami that's off the charts. Deeply browned beef gets a long slow simmer in a thick savory sauce, and you'll want to serve it over rice to capture all of that goodness. This recipe was adapted from "Grandpa Clarence's Hawaii-Style Beef Stew" from Jess at Plays Well with Butter.
Daddy's 'If They'da Had This at the Alamo We Would'ha WON!' Texas Chili
This award-winning Texas chili recipe was created and named by my daddy, who was born and bred in Texas. It took some convincing, but I got him to allow me to share the recipe. We love it and hope you do, too. Enjoy!
