This green bean almondine side dish couldn't be simpler to make. Even those who don't like green veggies love this — no matter how much I make, it's never enough!
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 1.5 ounces slivered almonds
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic , minced, or more to taste
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
-
1
Gather the ingredients.
-
2
Place beans into a microwave-safe casserole dish with enough water to cover the bottom. Microwave on high power until almost tender, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain in a colander and refresh under cold running water to keep them bright green in color.
-
3
Heat a frying pan over medium heat. Add almonds and cook until just starting to turn golden, about 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely so as to not burn.
-
4
Take pan off of heat and add butter to melt. Return to heat and add garlic. Mix in green beans, season with salt and pepper, and continue to stir until heated through, 3 to 5 minutes.

Enjoy!

Lemon Cheese Cake
This lemon cheese cake recipe isn't made with cheese — it is a layer cake that's filled with a tangy homemade lemon curd (which is another name for lemon cheese). If you like, use your favorite scratch recipe for the cake, but I usually like to simplify all I can.
Chocolate Kiss Cookies
Chocolate kiss filled cookies. A wonderful chocolate treat.
Cream Cheese Frosting with Brown Butter and Bourbon
This frosting pairs perfectly with banana, carrot, and spice cakes. Browning the butter gives it a deep, nutty flavor. As with many buttercreams, you may need slightly more or less sugar to reach your desired consistency.
