I have made this family-favorite cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries for Christmas and Thanksgiving every year for more than a decade. The recipe was given to me by a friend.
Ingredients
- 3 cinnamons sticks
- 5 whole cloves
- 5 whole allspice berries
- 4 cups fresh cranberries
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 cups white sugar
Instructions
-
1
Wrap cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice berries in a spice bag.
-
2
Combine cranberries, water, and spice bag in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook until cranberries begin to burst, about 10 minutes.
-
3
Stir in sugar and reduce the heat to low. Continue cooking until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
-
4
Remove and discard spice bag. Cover cranberry sauce and chill in the refrigerator before serving, 8 hours to overnight.

Mint Julep Sweet Tea
This mint julep sweet tea is a refreshing, cool-me-down drink made with bourbon and sweet tea. I muddle 4 mint leaves in each glass for extra mint flavor. It's optional, but I think it really adds to the drink.

This is my daughter's double-layer pumpkin cheesecake bar recipe. She made it for us at Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious and the layers look very pretty for presentation.
