I have made this family-favorite cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries for Christmas and Thanksgiving every year for more than a decade. The recipe was given to me by a friend.
Ingredients
- 3 cinnamons sticks
- 5 whole cloves
- 5 whole allspice berries
- 4 cups fresh cranberries
- 1.5 cups water
- 2 cups white sugar
Instructions
-
1
Wrap cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice berries in a spice bag.
-
2
Combine cranberries, water, and spice bag in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook until cranberries begin to burst, about 10 minutes.
-
3
Stir in sugar and reduce the heat to low. Continue cooking until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool to room temperature, about 30 minutes.
-
4
Remove and discard spice bag. Cover cranberry sauce and chill in the refrigerator before serving, 8 hours to overnight.

Bing Cherry Salad
This is a salad my great grandma use to make and is one of my favorites to eat during the holiday season. Most people make this creamy by melting the cream cheese or dissolving it in the juice. We actually add small chunks of the cheese after the mix has cooled. So you have a clear gelatin with little white chunks in it. So good!
Fajita-Style Vegan Tofu Burrito
This is a very simple vegan burrito that has a very good fajita flavor.
Creamy Tomato Bean Soup
This creamy tomato bean soup pairs nicely with warm, crusty bread or a light side salad. The cannellini beans provide a creamy texture and add protein to this soup for extra staying power.
