For this meatloaf on the grill recipe, we use ground pork and ground turkey because we don't eat beef, but you can use any ground meat. This grilled meatloaf recipe is a fun way to cook a meatloaf that is great for a hot summer day when you don't want to turn on the oven. We use a charcoal grill. I usually don't measure the seasoning, so go by your own tastes.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms , sliced
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs
- 1.5 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove garlic , minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 0.5 teaspoons dried basil
Instructions
-
1
Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat.
-
2
Combine ground pork, ground turkey, mushrooms, eggs, bread crumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Italian seasoning, and basil in a large bowl using your hands; pat into a 9-inch pie plate. Place pie plate on a baking sheet.
-
3
Place the baking sheet on the grill grate, close the lid, and cook on the preheated grill until no longer pink in center, 30 to 45 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Pizza Buns
The elementary school I attended back in the 1950s used to make these, and were a favorite of most everyone. My wife and I spent a lot of time trying to recreate these when we were first married. Our kids (now in their 30s) still request these when they come to visit. We use canned pizza sauce but spice it up. Leftovers are easily reheated in the toaster oven.
Wisconsin Blue Ribbon Chili
This chili recipe earned its blue ribbon at a chili cook-off three years in a row! It is a mild, sweet chili, but it could always be spiced up with a little hot sauce. In Wisconsin, chili has macaroni noodles in it, which my husband thinks is the best part of this recipe. Add canned kidney beans with the macaroni, if desired.
