This rustic no-knead Dutch oven bread is easy, fabulous, and tastes like it's fresh from a French bakery. The secret is using a Dutch oven, which regulates the moisture.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 0.25 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1.5 cups water
Instructions
-
1
Mix together flour, salt, and instant yeast in a large glass or ceramic bowl; stir in water until well combined. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and set aside at 70 degrees F (21 degrees C) for 12 to 19 hours.
-
2
Turn dough out onto a floured cutting board covered with waxed paper. Dough will be sticky. Turn 2 to 3 times so that all sides are well floured. Set aside, covered with waxed paper, until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
-
3
Place a Dutch oven in the oven. Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F (245 degrees C).
-
4
Carefully remove the preheated Dutch oven, place dough inside, and cover with the lid.
-
5
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and continue to bake until crust achieves desired color, 10 to 20 minutes more.

Cardamom Creme Brulee Parfait with Candied Pumpkin
Here is a classic dessert with a bit of a twist that will stun your Thanksgiving guests, plus it's a great excuse to buy a kitchen torch if you don't already have one. If the idea of parfaits feels like a bit too much work here, feel free to bake the custard in the traditional way in ramekins, brulee the top, then garnish with the candied pumpkin. You can use a 2-inch round cutter for a round serving dish such as a stemmed champagne coupe. These can be made 2 to 3 days ahead, stored in the freezer. Remove 30 minutes before serving. Serve as-is or with whipped cream or caramel sauce.
Raw Pasta Sauce
An uncooked, sugar-free, and vegetarian pasta sauce that delivers fantastic flavor without cooking away all the nutrients. Perfect for a raw foods diet when served over uncooked spaghetti squash.
Easy Texas Chili
This is an easy Texas chili recipe I learned from my mother. I like my chili with a little fire to it, but you can adjust this recipe to your liking. This chili only gets better the second day, so don't worry about using a large pot and having more than your family can eat the first night because you can have it a couple of nights later. Enjoy โ I know I do every time I make this chili.
