This peach cobbler dump cake is made with canned peaches and has a homemade cake batter that's incredibly easy to make with flour, milk, and sugar. It's oh-so-yummy, especially when served hot and topped with vanilla ice cream. I have been making this recipe for my family and friends for over 25 years.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cups butter
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon , plus more for sprinkling
- 20 ounces canned sliced peaches , undrained
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place butter in a 1 ½-quart baking dish and put in the oven to melt while it preheats.
-
2
Remove melted butter from the oven and set aside to cool, about 5 minutes.
-
3
Mix flour, sugar, milk, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together in a bowl until well combined. Gently pour batter into the middle of the melted, cooled butter; do not stir. Pour peaches and juice into the center of the batter; once again, it is important you do not stir. Sprinkle cinnamon on top, a little at a time.
-
4
Bake in the preheated oven until brown and bubble, 30 to 60 minutes; cooking time will vary depending on the wetness of the ingredients.

We love to eat potato skins, but I got tired of just using the starch that we scooped out for mashed potatoes. I thought: "Hmmm, I could shape it into pancakes and make latkes, that could be interesting." They were such a hit with the family that this recipe has been a staple ever since!
