Quite possibly the world's most perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter. These are amazing.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cups butter , softened
- 0.5 cups vegetable shortening
- 0.75 cups white sugar
- 0.67 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 0.67 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.25 teaspoons salt
- 0.75 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1.25 cups candy-coated peanut butter pieces , such as Reese's Pieces®
Instructions
-
1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
2
In a large bowl, beat the butter and shortening together with an electric mixer until well combined. Beat in the white and brown sugar until the mixture is creamy, then beat the vanilla extract and eggs, followed by the cocoa powder. Beat until the mixture is even in color. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir the flour mixture into the cocoa mixture until the dough is thoroughly mixed. Stir in the chocolate chips and 3/4 cup of peanut butter candies. Reserve the rest of the candy pieces.
-
3
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and refrigerate the cookie dough until chilled, at least 45 minutes. Drop dough by tablespoon onto the prepared baking sheets. Gently press a few more candy pieces into the top of each cookie.
-
4
Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 9 minutes; cool on baking sheets for 1 to 2 minutes before finishing cooling on racks.

Dad's Pad Thai
This is my father's pad thai recipe. It's the best, even better than what you'll find at most Thai restaurants! I like it because it's full of fresh ingredients, it's not greasy, and it's satisfying and healthy. There is no meat in this recipe.
Thai Chicken Satay
This Thai chicken satay recipe is quick to prep, but best if the chicken is left to marinate for a few hours or more. Skewer up for the grill or cook on the stove, and serve with Thai peanut sauce.
Arugula and Goat Cheese Pizza
This arugula and goat cheese pizza with pesto is an amazingly simple and delicious variation to your regular tomato-based pizza. I based this recipe on a pizza I tried at a popular pizza restaurant in Washington DC.
