Fresh strawberries with sugar make a simple, tasty strawberry sauce that requires no cooking and is great for summer! You can mash the berries a bit if you prefer a softer sauce.

- 2 quartss fresh strawberries , cleaned, hulled and sliced
- 0.5 cups white sugar

Place strawberries in a large bowl. Sprinkle sugar evenly over berries; stir to coat. Let stand at room temperature, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.

Cover and chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
