The honey and brown sugar really gives the apple butter a little more depth then others I have tried. If you like a smoother apple butter, blend the apples once they are soft with a electric mixer. I like to use more then 1 variety of apples like Granny Smith and then something a little softer like fuji.
Ingredients
- 5.5 pounds apples - peeled , cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 cup white sugar
- 0.5 cups brown sugar
- 0.5 cups honey
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoons allspice
Instructions
-
1
Stir apples, white sugar, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, and allspice together in a slow cooker.
-
2

Wasabi and Soy Sauce Hummus
A healthy hummus, with a sushi-like twist! This is my first ever published recipe, so please be honest and kind in your comments! For my first batch I tried adding a sheet of nori (seaweed). I do not recommend this, unless you REALLY like the flavor of nori, as it completely overpowered the other flavors. Maybe some small slices on top, as a garnish? I've found that this recipe makes a nice condiment on sandwiches, too!
Sliwkowka Czyli Nalewka ze Sliwek (Polish Purple Plum Liqueur)
Delicious homemade plum liqueur. It needs 6 months to develop but after that you can enjoy it poured over ice cream or sponge cakes. Try dipping the plums from the liqueur into melted chocolate. Delicious!
Simply Steamed Asparagus
This steamed asparagus is tender, tasty, and so simple! Try using vinaigrette dressing in place of the butter, too.
