The honey and brown sugar really gives the apple butter a little more depth then others I have tried. If you like a smoother apple butter, blend the apples once they are soft with a electric mixer. I like to use more then 1 variety of apples like Granny Smith and then something a little softer like fuji.

Chef John's Barbecue Chicken
When it comes to grilled barbecue chicken, everyone wants a nice thick barbecue glaze attached to the skin, and the only way to do it is to brush it on as it cooks. But because barbecue sauce has such a high sugar content, it only takes a minute for it to go from brick red to solid black — so you have to be careful! To ensure a sticky, sweet glaze that's not burnt, I sear the skin quickly, then cook it skin-side up on a covered grill, brushing on the glaze while it cooks. Because the glaze never touches the grilling surface, it doesn't burn.
Sweet Potato Pie IV
This is a sweet potato pie with optional pecan topping. It uses sweetened condensed milk, as opposed to the more commonly used evaporated milk. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. Yams may be used instead of sweet potatoes.
Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallows
Sweet potatoes mashed with brown sugar, allspice, and cinnamon are covered with a marshmallow topping in this copycat "better than Boston market" side dish. It's easy to make and tastes great. If you're looking for the best recipe for this holiday favorite, look no further!
