This spiced pears and pomegranate recipe is an easy fall fruit dessert that you can serve with a cheese selection.

Ingredients

  • 3 pears
  • 1 pomegranate , skin and light-colored membrane removed
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped almonds , Optional
  • 4 sprigs fresh mint leaves for garnish , Optional

Instructions

    Combine pears and pomegranate seeds in a bowl; toss with lemon juice to coat. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl; stir into fruit. Cover and refrigerate to blend flavors before serving, at least 1 hour.
