Very moist and yummy. This pineapple upside-down cake is especially great around the holidays, but is good for any time of year.
Chocolate Cherry Upside Down Cake
This is an old favorite from my recipe box that I have had for 25 years that 's non-dairy and egg free!
Pineapple Upside-Down Cake II
This recipe was given to me by a good friend in Hawaii. She always uses fresh pineapple, the end product is delicious. Very yummy served with ice cream or whipped cream as an accompaniment.
Nectarine Upside-Down Cake
A buttery brown sugar glaze and the simple white cake below make this nectarine upside-down cake recipe irresistible.
Upside-Down Pear Gingerbread Cake
This upside-down pear gingerbread cake is delicious yet easy to make. It's the perfect dessert for a Thanksgiving or Christmas feast.
Sharlotka
Sharlotka is a traditional Russian apple cake. I like to make it in a deep pie dish and serve it with a brown sugar glaze in a fashion similar to a pineapple upside-down cake. However, the recipe may also be used (minus the glaze) to make a single loaf, mini loaves, or cupcakes. Traditionally, it is baked in a cast iron skillet.
Ricotta Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
A combo of sweet, fresh pineapple paired with a tangy ricotta cake makes for a deliciously decadent flavor combo. Don't use skim ricotta for this—it's too watery, and won't provide the flavor that makes this cake so good.
Lemon Blueberry Upside-Down Cake
Light and simple lemon blueberry cake with a twist on the traditional upside-down cake.
Caramel Apple Upside-Down Cake
This apple upside down cake with tender, buttery caramel apples on top is simply delicious. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for a wonderful fall dessert!
Plum Upside-Down Cake
Based on the Cottage Pudding Upside-Down Cake on this site, this plummified version ensures the same fluffy base but with specks of cinnamon thrown in for visual effect. Use a mix of sweet and sour plums for best results and adjust the brown sugar amounts if most of them are sour. Note that flipping the cake will be messier if your plums are overripe. Once it's cooled down, you'll want to reheat it for about 10 seconds in the microwave for the tastiest results.
Upside-Down Coffee Cake
This is a gorgeous moist and gooey coffee cake! Use any type of fresh or frozen fruit, or combination of 2 fruits. Peach, cherry, blackberry and/or red raspberry are some of the best. The deep baking pan is required due to the bubbling caramel sauce and the height of the cake. Every time I serve it I get rave reviews!
Chocolate Cream Snack Cakes
These are classic for a reason.
