Cantonese Style Lobster
This recipe for Cantonese-style lobster is so, so good! My grandma, who is Chinese, makes this every time I go to see her, ever since I was little. I love this stuff!
Ants Climbing a Tree (Sichuan Spicy Vermicelli Stir-Fry)
"Ants on a tree" is one of most well known Sichuan dishes. It is a combination of ground pork and mung bean vermicelli. In addition to that, we use Sichuan peppercorn powder, topped with fresh green onion, it is a very good main course for your dining table.
Brandi's Wontons
These Chinese dumplings are so delicious and filling, I actually serve these as a meal. They also freeze well to make appetizers at a later date.
Taiwanese Ground Pork and Pickled Cucumbers
This is a Taiwanese-style minced pork, usually eaten over rice with a vegetable. Can easily double or triple the recipe if needed.
Char Siu (Chinese Barbeque Pork)
My favorite Chinese food ever! Chinese dark soy sauce is actually a key component. Serve with rice or noodles.
Mabo Dofu
My grandmother's recipe for pork tofu. Serve over white rice.
My World Famous Pressure Cooker Chinese Ribs
A delicious version of Chinese ribs. Serve with fried rice and/or noodles.
Grandma's Hong Shau Rou (Red Braised Pork)
I have been reading about this traditional Chinese dish on the Internet and found there are many different versions of it. Some are spicy, incorporating chile and ginger. Others have the spices of star anise, cinnamon, and lots of garlic added too. The recipe my grandma passed on to us here is the garlicky one. Garnish with some chopped spring onions or cilantro and serve with steamed white rice or buns. I like to serve a side dish of pickled cucumber slices with the pork and this tanginess brings another dimension to the dish. Chi Fan (time to eat)!
Ground Pork Cake with Salty Egg (Haam Daan Ju Yoke Beng)
This is an authentic familiar traditional Cantonese home-style dish. It's a recipe mostly passed on within families, and it is rare to find this dish in any Asian restaurant. Trust me though, it is VERY good. It's actually intentionally salty tasting, so it goes very well with white rice. Salty eggs are also called a Haam Daan- you can find them at all Asian supermarkets.
Dan Dan Noodles
If you like spicy noodles, you'll love this dan dan noodles recipe. This classic Sichuan dish has co much flavor and is easy to make at home.
Chinese Steamed Buns with Barbecued Pork Filling
My sister-in law is Chinese and this is one of her most delicious Dim Sum recipes. It's Chinese name is Char Siu Bao, takes a little effort but is extremely worth it. Barbequed pork can be found in Asian markets, or often in the supermarket deli section.
Sichuan Pork Stir-Fry
This is a deliciously spiced pork dish. Tender pork is stir-fried with stem lettuce in a fiery chile sauce. Enjoy with freshly cooked white rice.
