Country Ham and Biscuits
Dolly Parton and Rachel Parton George's famous biscuit recipe is the perfect addition to any party. Just don't skimp on the bacon grease!
Cream Cheese Biscuits
These cream cheese biscuits are tender, fluffy, and slightly sweet, with a hint of tangy buttermilk, and they are very delicious.
Iced Dried Cherry Biscuits
These buttery biscuits flavored with dried cherries and drizzled with icing are flaky and simply delicious. Resist peeking into the oven while the biscuits are baking โ biscuits need consistent heat to rise and brown and any temperature fluctuation runs the risk of flat biscuits.
Banana Rum Biscotti
These cookies are crispy on the outside and softer on the inside. They aren't too sweet. They do taste like banana.
Beef Stroganoff with Noodles
This beef stroganoff recipe with stew meat is a family favorite. The sauce is very rich and creamy and is great served over egg noodles. It does take a little longer to make, but it is well worth it!
Red Wine-Marinated Beef Stew
A twist on traditional beef stew--stew meat that is so tender even the most finicky eaters will love! (i.e. kids that don't like meat that is tough to chew...like mine.) The "secret" is the acid from the red wine. It helps to break down the collagen, naturally tenderizing the meat and releasing great flavor! The longer you can marinate the better but a minimum of 3 hours is essential. Enjoy with a good crusty bread and a glass of red!
Beer-Braised Irish Stew and Colcannon
Beef stew is served with colcannon in this recipe that I shared with girlfriends in my recipe club last year. It is a yummy Irish dish that's a great alternative to corned beef for St. Patrick's Day and a wonderful anytime dish!
Beef Tinaktak
Tinaktak (pronounced tee-nack-tack) may have originated from the sound of chopping meat: tak! tak! tak! It is one of Guam's favorite comfort foods and definitely a favorite of mine since it is so simple to make yet yields a tasty dish! Serve over hot steamed rice (white or brown).
Caldereta (Filipino Beef Stew)
A Filipino beef stew traditionally cooked with goat, but it's usually not available in most markets. You can get creative with this dish such as adding garbanzo beans, peas, and raisins. Optional: add 4 ounces of liver pate in place of tomato paste. Serve hot over a bed of rice.
Beef Stifado in the Slow Cooker
Greek stifado is a beef stew and my all-time favorite Greek dish. Chunks of tender beef are cooked with shallots in a rich, aromatic tomato sauce. Serve with boiled rice and a good supply of crusty bread to mop up the decadent sauce!
Slow Cooker Beef Neck Bones and Gravy
Beef neck bones are a Southern staple recipe. I couldn't find a recipe online, so I created this one on my own by pulling from some of my favorite oxtail, roast, and pork neck bone recipes. Turned out yummy so I thought I'd share. Serve over steamed rice and peas or mashed potatoes.
Rabo Encendido (Cuban Oxtail Stew)
Great basic recipe for Cuban-style oxtail stew.
