Lamb Tagine
When I first made this Moroccan lamb tagine, I left the kitchen window open. The smell attracted several neighbors and my husband who came in and said that it smelled so good that he hoped it was coming from our house and not from someone else's! If you don't have a tagine, you can use a heavy-bottomed pot.
Lamb Braised in Pomegranate
This lamb with pomegranate sauce is about as seasonally appropriate as it gets and one of the best things I've tasted in a long time.
Middle Eastern Kibbeh
This Middle Eastern Kibbeh recipe is inspired by a dish traditionally made with lamb, but beef is acceptable, too. I prefer it shaped into patties and fried, but it's often baked in restaurants. Serve kibbeh with tahini, a sesame seed paste.
Oven-Roasted Lamb Ribs
Why order template barbeque ribs when you can make a savory set of ribs that will make you eat till you drop or it pops out from your eyes? Best served on chopped parsley with pickled onions and other pickles, watercress leaves, tomatoes, and tahini sauce.
Grilled Leg of Lamb Steaks
My mother shared this recipe for leg of lamb steaks. The first time I tried leg steaks, I found them to be a delicious and very tender cut of lamb.
Feta and Slow-Roasted Tomato Salad with French Green Beans
A lovely fresh salad to accompany hot lamb dishes or simply to serve as salad with a BBQ.
Instant Pot Lamb Shoulder Chops
These delicious, melt-in-your-mouth lamb chops that taste like they've been cooking for hours, but they only need 40 minutes in the Instant Pot. Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
Kashmiri Lamb
This recipe has been with me for over 30 years; it was given to me by a Kashmiri guy I shared a house with when I was 17. This is his mum's family recipe. Kashmir's cuisine combines the area's fruits and nuts with the ingredients and the cooking style of the Moghuls. This rich stew makes a marvelous main dish. Serve it with hot steamed rice or crusty breads. This is lovely!
Butter Lamb Gravy
Lamb is simmered in a spicy tomato and cream sauce. This is a very mouthwatering dish that is easy to make. Serve with hot cooked rice or your favorite bread. You can even make a variation with chicken, salmon or beef.
Badische Schupfnudeln (Potato Noodles)
Typical of Baden-Baden and the Baden-Wurttemberg state in southwestern Germany, schupfnudeln is a kind of spaeztle (homemade pasta) that gets its name from the Upper German word 'Schupfen,' meaning 'to shove, push, throw or chuck.' They are traditionally handmade by rolling out potato dough on a board and cutting the dough into noodles. Simple and easy to make, they are delicious and go well with almost anything: roast pork, racks of lamb, bits of bacon, sauerkraut, and any cabbage dishes.
Turkish Chicken Kebabs
This chicken kebab recipe uses a flavorful, yogurt-based marinade. I'd like to think that all the chicken coming off American grills this summer will be as tasty, juicy, and tender as these. Even inexperienced grillers can produce impressive results! It's loosely based on a lamb marinade I've used for a long time.
Grilled Lamb Loin Chops
Try this recipe for lamb loin chops packed with maximum flavor. For best results, try to use 1-inch-thick loin chops. These are best served medium to medium-rare, but add a few extra minutes per side if you prefer them a little more done.
