Go-To Crawfish Etouffee
This recipe was (after much prodding) given to me by a friend. The soup seems an odd addition, but replaces the traditional roux -- and the end result is nothing short of wonderful. Serve over rice or linguine.
S'more Pie
It seems like everything these days is about s'mores — kits to make them, s'mores brownies, ice cream, dip, etc. I searched for a s'mores variation of Mississippi mud pie but wanted it to have equal parts graham cracker and chocolate. The taste is a great balance where all the flavors stand out.
Cranberry Sauce with Orange Juice and Brown Sugar
The warmth of ginger, cloves, and brown sugar and the brightness of orange juice and zest come together to make this family-favorite cranberry sauce. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen ones — just simmer them a few minutes longer. Make this ahead of time, and save yourself some stress on the big day!
