I was given this recipe for bacon roll ups at a party a long time ago by the hostess. It's a really easy appetizer to make and always the first one to disappear. Toothpicks are necessary to secure these little roll ups.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf white bread , 1 pound
- 1 package cream cheese , 8 ounce
- 1 pound sliced bacon , cut in half
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
2
Cut each slice of white bread in half horizontally; spread with cream cheese. Tightly roll each piece of bread with 1/2 a piece of bacon and secure with toothpicks. The bacon should be on the outside of the bread. Arrange roll ups in a single layer on a medium baking dish.
-
3
Bake in the preheated oven until bacon is no longer pink and bread is lightly browned, about 30 minutes. Serve warm.

This cookie dough spreads to make thin, lacy, oatmeal cookies that you peel off the cookie sheet. Great served with ice cream, or rolled into tubes while still warm and dipped in chocolate.

This fruit salad with whipped cream topping can be made four hours ahead if chilled and covered. You can substitute Grand Marnier for Chambord, or use raspberry extract.
