This recipe found me about a year ago and I have absolutely loved it ever since! Given its ingredients, I wasn't surprised to find it seems to be a hit no matter where it's served.
Ingredients
- 12 slices center-cut bacon , cut in half crosswise
- 24 frozens bite-sized potato nuggets , such as Tater Tots®
- 4 slices sharp Cheddar cheese , each cut into 6 small pieces
- 3 teaspoons hot pepper sauce , such as Frank's RedHot®
- 24 toothpicks
Instructions
-
1
Gather the ingredients. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
2
Lay each slice of bacon onto a work surface. Place a potato nugget in the center of each bacon slice.
-
3
Cut a slit down the center of each potato nugget and place a piece of Cheddar cheese into the slit. Top each nugget with a dash of hot sauce.
-
4
Wrap bacon around each nugget, secure with a toothpick, and transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
-
5
Bake in the preheated oven until nuggets are cooked through and bacon is crispy, 15 to 20 minutes.

Apple Pie in a Jar Drink
This adult drink in a jar tastes just like apple pie! Great in the autumn around a campfire or on a hayride. Serve it in canning jars with rings and lids for that down-home country appeal.
Smoked Mac and Cheese Is Perfect for All Your Summertime Barbecue Needs
This smoked macaroni and cheese recipe is more of a how-to. While I use prepared mac and cheese for ease, by all means use homemade if you choose–it will only be that much better. This takes on smoke flavor quickly and compliments smoked ribs, chicken, and brisket. Stick it on the smoker in the last hour of smoke time on your meat. By the time the meat is rested, this is ready to go.
