This homemade marinara sauce recipe is very easy to make and the only red sauce my 5-year-old daughter will eat! Serve with your favorite type of pasta.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes , 14.5 ounce
  • 1 can tomato paste , 6 ounce
  • 4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 0.33 cups finely diced onion
  • 0.5 cups white wine

Instructions

  1. 1

Place tomatoes, tomato paste, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a food processor; blend until smooth.

  2. 2

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until slightly softened, about 2 minutes.

  3. 3

Stir in blended tomato sauce and white wine.

  4. 4

Simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened, about 30 minutes.
