These black magic sesame crisps use black sesame seeds to create a crisp, cracker-like snack that is so delicious, you'll think supernatural forces are at work. This recipe is super fast and dead simple.
Ingredients
- 2 large egg whites
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 0.25 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 0.33 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cups sesame seeds
Instructions
-
1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with a half sheet-size Silpat nonstick silicone baking mat (16 1/2x11 1/2-inch).
-
2
Whisk egg whites, vegetable oil, salt, and sugar together in a bowl until sugar is dissolved, 30 seconds to 1 minute. Whisk in flour until smooth.
-
3
Blend in sesame seeds with a spatula until evenly mixed, and transfer to the Silpat-lined pan. Spread out into a thin, even layer, leaving a 1-inch border. Tap the pan a few times on the counter to further level the mixture.
-
4
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
-
5
Let cool completely, about 20 minutes. Peel the sheet of sesame crisps off the mat, and break into cracker-size pieces.
