This bow tie pasta salad was created by my aunt and mom and is still a family favorite. It is packed with crunchy vegetables tossed in a creamy dressing. Perfect for summer potlucks and picnics.
Ingredients
- 1 package farfalle bow tie pasta , 16 ounce
- 1 bag broccoli florets , 12 ounce
- 10 ounces cherry or grape tomatoes
- 1 bunch green onions , sliced
- 0.5 cups chopped celery
- 0.5 reds bell pepper , chopped
- 0.5 greens bell pepper , chopped
- 2 cups creamy salad dressing , such as Miracle Whip®
- 0.33 cups grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cups white sugar or to taste
- 0.5 teaspoons dried basil or to taste
- 0.5 teaspoons salt or to taste
Instructions
-
1
Gather the ingredients.
-
2
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil. Cook bow tie pasta at a boil until tender yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain. Quickly rinse the cooked pasta in cold water to stop it from continuing to cook; drain.
-
3
Mix cooled pasta, broccoli, tomatoes, sliced green onions, celery, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper in a large bowl.
-
4
Gently stir salad dressing and Parmesan cheese together in a bowl until evenly mixed; season to taste with sugar, basil, and salt.
-
5
Pour salad dressing mixture over pasta mixture; gently toss to coat evenly.
-
6
For best results, chill salad in refrigerator before serving to allow flavors to blend.
