I have made this eggnog recipe for the Christmas holiday for over 25 years. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 12 eggs , separated
- 2 cups white sugar , divided
- 1 quart rum
- 1 quart half-and-half
- 1 quart milk
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- ice cubes
Instructions
-
1
Beat egg whites in a glass, metal, or ceramic bowl until foamy. Add 1 cup sugar gradually, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the egg whites will form sharp peaks.
-
2
Beat egg yolks and remaining 1 cup sugar in a separate bowl until frothy and lightened in color.
-
3
Fold egg whites into egg yolk mixture gently; pour into a large punch bowl or pitcher. Stir in rum, half-and-half, and milk.
-
4
Top eggnog with nutmeg; serve with ice.

Peanut Butter Divinity Roll
Loved these as a kid. Mom called them pinwheels. She stopped making them, lost the recipe I guess. So it took a while for me to get it right.
How to Make Sourdough Bread with Levain
This new and improved sourdough technique with levain took a year to develop. This is maybe my longest video ever, but to see the steps in real time, and to learn all the details of making this loaf of bread, it's worth it.
Butternut Squash Patties
In this butternut squash patties recipe, I was looking for a way to use leftover cooked butternut squash and looked at several recipes for ideas. I put these ingredients together not knowing how it would turn out. It's a keeper!
