I have made this eggnog recipe for the Christmas holiday for over 25 years. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 12 eggs , separated
- 2 cups white sugar , divided
- 1 quart rum
- 1 quart half-and-half
- 1 quart milk
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- ice cubes
Instructions
-
1
Beat egg whites in a glass, metal, or ceramic bowl until foamy. Add 1 cup sugar gradually, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. Lift your beater or whisk straight up: the egg whites will form sharp peaks.
-
2
Beat egg yolks and remaining 1 cup sugar in a separate bowl until frothy and lightened in color.
-
3
Fold egg whites into egg yolk mixture gently; pour into a large punch bowl or pitcher. Stir in rum, half-and-half, and milk.
-
4
Top eggnog with nutmeg; serve with ice.

South African Lamb Sosaties (Kebabs)
This is a traditional South African braai (bbq) dish that can also be prepared using venison or beef. This dish is best if meat and vegetables are allowed to marinate overnight before grilling.
Easy Slow Cooker French Dip
A delicious French dip sandwich, perfect for the working mom! Nobody, not even teetotalers, have been able to detect the presence of beer in this recipe, but it adds a wonderful flavor! French fries make a great side dish, and they are good for dipping, too.
Peppercorn Pork Chops with Warm Pickled Pepper Relish
If you are a lover of pepper in all its forms, you really must experience this dish. With 4 kinds of peppercorns producing a fairly spicy crust, these tender, moist chops topped with a sweet and sour pickled pepper sauce are perhaps the most flavorful you will ever enjoy in your life. Serve with scalloped potatoes, if desired.
